Errors and curiosities found on stamps in this series

The 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80 fillér, and the 1, 2 and 5 forint denominations of the series won international stamp-art awards in Rome in 1955. The 30 and 40 fillér denominations each received two awards; the 30 fillér was declared the most beautiful sports-themed stamp issued in 1953.

The 20 and 30 fillér denominations also occur on unwatermarked paper. The 20–60 fillér denominations are also known in sheets of ten.
