The Post issued a 14-value definitive stamp set depicting portraits of prominent Hungarian artists, politicians and scientists. The stamp designs were created by Sándor Légrády from the drawings, paintings and photographs indicated for the individual denominations.
- 1 fillér: portrait of playwright Imre Madách, based on a photograph owned by Mrs István Kuchinka, née Margit Madách.
- 2 fillér: portrait of poet János Arany, based on an original painting by Horovitz.
- 4 fillér: portrait of physician Ignác Semmelweis, based on a drawing by Ferenc Márton using an engraving owned by the Semmelweis–Lehotzky family.
- 5 fillér: portrait of poet Ferenc Kölcsey, based on an original drawing by Miklós Barabás.
- 6 fillér: portrait of physicist Baron Loránd Eötvös, based on an original photograph owned by the Eötvös family.
- 10 fillér: portrait of reform politician Count István Széchenyi, based on the original Amerling painting held by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
- 16 fillér: portrait of politician Ferenc Deák, based on a drawing by Ferenc Márton using a contemporary metal engraving.
- 20 fillér: portrait of composer Ferenc Liszt, based on an original photograph owned by the Academy of Music.
- 25 fillér: portrait of poet Mihály Vörösmarty.
- 30 fillér: portrait of Lajos Kossuth, Governor-President of Hungary during the War of Independence, based on an original photograph held by the Museum of Fine Arts.
- 32 fillér: portrait of Count István Tisza, Prime Minister during the First World War, based on a photograph owned by the family.
- 40 fillér: portrait of painter Mihály Munkácsy, based on his self-portrait painting in the Museum of Fine Arts.
- 50 fillér: portrait of Asian explorer and linguist Sándor Kőrösi Csoma, based on a drawing by Ferenc Márton using an old engraving.
- 70 fillér: portrait of mathematician Farkas Bolyai, based on an original painting by Thanhoffer held by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Date of issue
- Decree No. 85.813/3, published on 2 July 1932, originally provided for gradual release. It was later decided to issue the entire set at once, except for the 5- and 25-fillér denominations, and the Stamp Sales Office received its first supply around mid-August 1932.
- Under Decree No. 98.195/3 of 26 April 1937, the 5- and 25-fillér values were placed on sale from 5 May 1937.
