Watermark
X. Double-cross coat-of-arms watermark
Regularly repeating upright and head-down, left- and right-facing crowned crests.
The watermark position is determined by the relative positions of the crests and the tilt of the crown’s cross, on stamps that bear the corresponding watermark fragment and the crown cross. Each orientation has two states; the normal and its mirror image can be distinguished.
Occurring watermark positions and watermark orientations:
1: Upright crest on the left side of the head-standing crest; the left-facing crest is above the right-facing crest and the crowns’ cross tilts to the left.
2: Upright crest on the right side of the head-standing crest; the left-facing crest is below the right-facing crest and the crowns’ cross tilts to the right.
B 1: Upright crest on the right side of the head-standing crest; the left-facing crest is below the right-facing crest and the crowns’ cross tilts to the left.
B 2: Upright crest on the left side of the head-standing crest; the left-facing crest is above the right-facing crest and the crowns’ cross tilts to the right.
