Darabanth Auction House

Continuous auctions featuring philately, numismatics, postcards, porcelain, paintings, works of art and paper antiques.
Darabanth Aukciósház

Darabanth Auction House has organised online and room auctions since late 2004, covering philately and postal history, vintage postcards, numismatics, paper antiques, porcelain, paintings and other collecting fields.

The company initially built its reputation through philatelic, postcard and numismatic auctions, becoming one of the largest participants in these segments of the auction market. Over the years, its offering expanded to include paintings, prints, porcelain, books and other antiques, supported by the necessary professional expertise.

In these fields, Darabanth can also describe itself as the largest auction house holding regular online auctions.

Its two rapid auctions each month offer 22,000–25,000 individual lots apiece—a selection comparable to that of major online marketplaces—while the company’s expert staff provide a considerably more reliable background for sellers and buyers alike.

These auctions are followed closely by virtually every collector and dealer interested in antiques.

In addition to its rapid auctions, Darabanth holds two major auctions each year, in spring and autumn, as well as special auctions at Christmas and New Year featuring carefully selected, particularly interesting and/or valuable lots.

Over the years, the company has also held a number of thematic auctions for specialist material and major individual collections under separate partnership agreements.

Its online auctions attract a large and steadily growing Hungarian and international clientele. Customers from all over the world both buy from Darabanth and consign items to its auctions.

Its excellent online system and multilingual website make both bidding and tracking consigned lots straightforward and enjoyable.

The auction house continuously accepts stamp collections, postcards, banknotes and coins, decorations, paintings, prints, porcelain, books, manuscripts, maps, smaller antiques, jewellery and watches for auction, and also purchases such items directly for cash.

Sellers are offered accurate and reliable settlement, transparent and precise tracking of their lots, and prompt payment. The office welcomes clients in the heart of Budapest, just a few steps from the Opera House.

Its online shop offers an extensive, continuously available selection of Hungarian and foreign stamps, postcards, numismatic items, philatelic literature and collecting accessories.
